While staying at the motel and spending the day exploring the Gulf waters aboard one of the rental pontoons, Fonda turned to her husband Jeff and said: “If this place ever came up for sale, I’d risk it all to buy it.” At the time, it felt like a passing thought during a relaxing family vacation on Florida’s Adventure Coast. Looking back now, it was the beginning of something much bigger.

A Leap of Faith

In 2024, after years with Verizon, Fonda was unexpectedly offered a company buyout with a release date set for March 2025. After much prayer, reflection, and countless conversations, she made the difficult but exciting decision to take the leap — despite not having a clear plan yet.

Only a few months later, something incredible happened: the very property they had fallen in love with years earlier became available for purchase. With Jeff already searching for the right business opportunity, the timing felt impossible to ignore. The couple reached out and soon met the previous owners, who they describe as some of the most genuine and supportive people they’ve ever encountered. The sellers believed in Jeff and Fonda’s vision for the future of the property and patiently worked with them while they figured out how to make the dream become reality.

In May 2026, that dream officially came true. Introducing Hernando Beach Motel & Boat Rental As part of this exciting new chapter, the property has officially rebranded as: Hernando Beach Motel & Boat Rental

While guests will still enjoy the same laid-back coastal charm and unforgettable boating adventures the property has become known for, the new name better reflects the full waterfront experience guests can expect during their stay.
